Books and Bakes

Saturday May 30th

2pm - 4pm
Bullen Hall, Bennet Close, Hampton Wick KT1 4AT

Books & Bakes

The Hampton Wick Association invites everyone to come together for a relaxed, welcoming afternoon of books, cakes and conversation Books & Bakes is a free, drop-in event for everyone: families, children, neighbours and friends, where all ages are warmly welcome.

A selection of baked treats

There will be a selection of baked treats on hand to enjoy throughout the afternoon…

The idea is simple

The idea is simple: bring along one to five books to swap. It might be a much-loved children’s book, a novel you’ve finished, or a cookbook you return to often. All genres are welcome, and there are no rules about what you can bring or take. The aim is to encourage discovery, conversation and an easy exchange of stories.

Recipes of Hampton Wick

Alongside the book swap, we’ll be creating a Recipes of Hampton Wick pin-up board. Anyone who wishes can bring a favourite recipe, written on any piece of paper, and pin it up for others to photograph and keep. This will form a small shared collection of recipes that reflects the people, families and traditions that make up Hampton Wick.

Browse, chat, and enjoy time together

Above all, Books & Bakes is about bringing the local community together in a simple, friendly way, somewhere people can drop in at any point during the afternoon, browse, chat, and enjoy time together over books, shared ideas and tasty treats!
