New HWA committee position - Transport officer

Hampton Wick Association – Transport Officer

An opportunity for a volunteer to join the HWA committee as Transport Officer.

As part of the committee, you will be involved in all our activities which include organising community events, campaigning on issues of public interest and generally promoting the wellbeing and community life of Hampton Wick.

Specifically as Transport Officer your area of interest will encompass:

• Public transport
• Cycling (traditional and electric)
• Walking
• Cars and Parking (including electric vehicles) – routes and roads, speed limits, emissions and other policies

Responsibilities:

• Keep abreast of issues, news and information relating to transport in and around Hampton Wick
• Network on behalf of the HWA with local (and perhaps wider) interest groups and authorities relating to transport
• Propose policies and campaigns for the HWA to promote relating to transport issues
• Attend HWA committee meetings (approx. 10 per year)
• As an HWA committee member, participate in HWA events and activities throughout the year

You will need:

• An interest in relevant forms of local transport (especially cycling, walking, and sustainability in transport)
• Enthusiasm to research and seek out information and networking opportunities, and to represent the HWA
• An interest in Hampton Wick
• Energy, interest and ideas to contribute

Time commitment:

• Committee meetings are 1 to 2 hours, 10 times pa.
• Apart that it entirely depends on how much involvement you are able to offer for events, campaigns and activities
