International Women's Day in Hampton Wick

Sunday 15th March 2026

International Women's Day in Hampton Wick

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the HWA shone a light on a few of the wonderful women who help to make Hampton Wick such a special place. We ran a series of posts on Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky on March 8th, 9th and 10th and we are happy to reproduce them here.

Tanya insta
Tanya from Tanya Hairdressing

I’ve been running my hair salon in Hampton Wick for 12 years. During this time, I am very proud to have built up the business with so many local clients who are so loyal and friendly, they feel like family.

The incredible support and depth of feeling shown when Ukraine was invaded by Russia reinforced how important my client relationship is.

I am hugely committed to running my business within the wonderful Hampton Wick community!

Thank you Tanya!

Cat foresters
Cat from The Foresters

I stepped into Hampton Wick as a university student from Stoke-on-Trent looking for part-time work seven years ago, which is where my Foresters journey began.

I fell in love with Hampton Wick and climbed the ladder into management in 2021. Community is at the core of The Foresters and it is such a privilege to be a part of those special moments that matter.

It really is the people that make this village so wonderful and I’m super grateful to be a part of it.

Thank you Cat for everything you do for Hampton Wick and for being such an important part of our local community!

Kate eleanas
Kate from Eleana’s Bistro

I came to Hampton Wick about 5 years ago. With my partner George, I set up Eleana’s Bistro, named after our first daughter. Eleana’s has been so successful that we’ve now opened a second branch on the Causeway in Teddington.

Many of our customers come in every week, or even every day, so we really feel part of the community here. We live in Hampton Wick too. Hampton Wick feels like home for us, partly because it’s similar to the town in Greece where we grew up. There’s a little bit of everything, and it’s really friendly. We love it here.

Thank you Kate for making all of us feel at home at Eleana’s!
