HWA calls for flawed parking consultation to be withdrawn

The HWA believes that the current consultation on Hampton Wick’s CPZ Zone X is fundamentally flawed and cannot support informed public feedback.

Key documents are missing, unclear, or misleading—including an illegible plan, undefined terminology, and a “Parking Bays” table that presents reclassified bays as “new,” giving a false impression of increased parking provision.

The loss of off-peak parking from the conversion of single yellow lines to double yellow lines is unquantified, and indeed not mentioned anywhere.

With incomplete information, unclear proposals, and misleading presentation of changes, residents cannot reasonably understand the implications.

The HWA has written to the Council to ask that the consultation be withdrawn and reissued with accurate, clear, and complete documentation.
